n55w131 :

Hello my name is XXXX XXX I can try to answer any question(s) you may have.

n55w131 :

Can you please tell me the model number of the opener and the transmitter (remote) you are trying to change.

Customer :

I tried to see the model number but it is wore off on the outside. I would say it is about 3 years old. It;s square with FAAC on the top. 4 corner screw hold the top on. when you take out the screws and take the top off you can see the 6 rockers. iwas coded 1 2 3 4 were up and 5 6 were down. oddly the clicker I have is an 8 pin rocker and all of the rockers are down.

Customer :

Linear is the remote name

Customer :

The remote does work the gate.

n55w131 :

With the model numbers it is very hard to determine the proceedure to reset the code. Most of the units use whats called a learning mode. You sent the dip switches in the remote to any combinations you wish then your press the learn button in the receiver, operate the remote and the receiver learns the code. The receiver does have dip (rocker) switches but these are for setting various options like close delay time, open delay, etc. and are not used for programming the remote.

n55w131 :

Perhaps you could go to the Faac web site and take a look at the pictures and manuals and try to match them up. Faac has many differnt types of gates, swing gates, leaf gates, etc. In order to change your codes properly we need to identify it.

n55w131 :

If you could get back to me with them identified, I'd be more than glad to help.

Customer :

I will try and get that done tomorrow. thank you.

Thank you very much. I have not had a chance to go back over to the house to try and see if there is some way I can get that model number. I myself am going on vacation for 2 weeks. I'm hoping to still go over today. I appriciate your help and please check back to see if my issue has been resolved. This is my first time using "just answeer" and I am very impressed.

The only number I can see on the box covering the motor and everything is 74GR

Is that it?

Hello, sorry for the delay. Would it be possible for you to look at the Faac web site and help determine which style (swing) (slide) (other) and model it is. In order to help program this remote we need to find the exact model and follow the procedure. Pressing the wrong button or switch could cause other unrelated problems and I don't want to see that happen. Your help would be most grateful. Thanks.

It's a slide. The model is not readable.

It looks more like the 740-741.

Hello, thank-you, can you look at the pc board, the one with the 8 position dip switch and see if there is a model number printed on the board itself bellow the letters FAAC. Lets start with that first.

Customer replied 608 days and 8 hours ago.

I am away for the next 10 days. but will do this when I return.

Thank you for your patience.

.Toll Free USA: XXX-XXX-XXXX as expensive as these units are I would call their toll free number as they should be able to identify the unit, by verbal description, provide a manual or explain the difference in switches of 6 versus 8, and or provide verbal instructions on how to resolve this issue,

Customer replied 587 days and 17 hours ago.

Thank you for the suggestion.

You are welcome the accept button should be disabled there is no charge for the suggestion but without models and serial numbers it is going to be impossible to provide instructions in this kind of venue give them a call, a verbal description will mean much more to them without model numbers, and hopefully they can provide you with a solution right on the phone but let us know if they are of no help and we can try some trouble shooting methods with a volt ohm meter
