Hi,

The problem is most likely the turntable belt. It has broken or fallen off (which should then be replaced anyway). There is a possibility the drive motor has failed, but on these classic units, not common.

If you can find a model number for the unit (we cannot cross reference serial numbers) - I might be able to locate a replacement belt for you.

To replace the belt, disassembly is required, and not completely intuitive - so if you have some mechanical skills you can replace it your self.

If you do not feel comfortable doing this, a local servicer should be able to locate a replacement belt (about $20), plus labor.

Thanks,
Rod

Rod: The turntable is made in England-no belt but a 2in dia wheel with rubber edge

The unit, Model #KR912AE. It could be the motor???

Hi,

Yes that is a direct drive unit. Do you have the unit apart, with the turntable off of the wheel? If so, will the motor turn without the pressure on the turntable?

Can you turn the motor spindle by hand, is it free to turn?

Thanks,
Rod

Hi,

Do you still have the motor off? Do you have a Volt and Ohm meter to check the motor coil windings?

The turn table, probably has a "C" clip near the center spindle, you take the "C" clip off and the turn table should lift up.

Thanks,
Rod
