I have a Beyond Micro BMMDU2 external disk that my computer

Resolved Question:

I have a Beyond Micro BMMDU2 external disk that my computer nor laptop will recognize. Green light is on, I can hear the disk spin on start up. OS is Windows 7 and XP respectively.
Any guesses?

Was it used before and you now need the data on it? One thing you could do is remove the drive from it and insert it into a computer that have an IDE port to see if it can be recognized that way.

OK, then inserting it in a computer with an IDE controller is the next thing to do. It will show if the drive can mount in the operating system that way in case the enclosure USB controller is fried. If something happened to the drive you should be able to see if it's detected by the computer at boot or in the computer bios.

If you have another USB enclosure around, you could also try the drive in it.
