Welcome to JustAnswer, and thanks for your question!!
Have you tried to plug the Roku into any of the HDMI inputs on your denon yet?
No, I want to make sure I can connect to my Denon AVR 2809Ci before I purchase a Roku.
Ahh, I see. It looks like the Roku has 2 types of connections - an HDMI and a normal yellow video connector.
How are you connecting your 2809 to your TV?
Yes, I currently have a blu ray player and a HD cable box connected to my TV.
Do you use an HDMI between the Denon and the TV?
I also have a Logitech universal remore control
Ok, let me have a quick look at something - please hold on a moment.
You are using HDMI to connect both the DVD anbd HD cable box?
The 2809 has 4 HDMI inputs, so you should be OK to connect the Roku to one of the open HDMI ports you have.
I don't see any problems, but hold on while I check something.
Does it matter which open HDMI port to use
No it doesn't - they are all the same (they are just lables differently like SAT, DVR, etc.
I am doing a quick search to see if there are nay issues on the ROKU with HDMI - IU don't see any.
Okay, would do switch between the various HDMI ports so I can switch from cable tv to the Roku to watch movies?
Okay, How would I switch between the various HDMI ports so I can go from cable tv to Roku
You would simply have to select between DVD, SAT, DVR, or HDP using the Denon remote, or the left hand knob of the Denon. Are you wondering how to change the Logitec remote to show the new Roku?
I would like to connect Roku to the HDP port. Do you know if my Logitec will program in the Roku?
Unfortunately, I am not a Logitec remote expert. Did you get someone to program the remote for you, or did you do it yourself?
I did it myself. I can check on that I thought I ask since you were here.
Which remote do yo have - the Harmony?
Yes, the Harmony 880.
I had a quick look on the Logitech site and it looks like there are guys that have used the 880 and the Roku sucessfully.
That's good news. I think I'm all set. Thank you.
Ok - glad to help
