Resolved Question:

The world is divided into regions and DVDs are only meant to play in certain regions, its to do with copyright.
The region is on the DVD.
Did you get this player in Australia?
Where did you get the dvd, or what region is it?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
TEAC player was bought in Australia. DVD disc is region 1, my player is region 4. DVD came from New Zealand. Maryanne

Hi Maryanne

Ok, your right region 4 is Australia.
When a dvd is made they go to the owner and ask for the rights to produce the dvd. If they wanted the rights to play this DVD world wide, the studio would want a lot more money than if it was just for sale in Australia. I hope that makes sense!

Ok, it is possible to change your player to ignore the regions or make it region free.
This may carry a slight risk that you will render the unit useless, but it is just a small risk.

Do you want to proceed, its a fairly simple process
