Hello & Welcome,

Are all the menus and other text still in English, and just the voice is in German?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Everything is English except the voice which is in German.

Hi again,

Please try the following and let me know what you find. The key is that you select a voice that has the TTS (Text-To-Speech) at the end.

All of the Garmin automotive GPS units that speak street names are XXXXX XXXXX with basic voice prompts (i.e. 'Turn Right in 500 feet') as well as 'text-to-speech' voices that speak street names. If one of the basic types of voice prompts has been selected, the voice prompts will not speak street names.

If your nuvi does not speak street names but does have the text to speech feature please follow these steps:

  1. Power the unit on.
  2. Select TOOLS
  3. Select SETTINGS
  4. Select LANGUAGE
  5. Select the voice box
  6. Select either American English Jack or Jill/Samantha TTS
  7. Select OK
  8. Back out to the main menu, and you should be all set.

The device should now speak street names.

Please let me know.

Thanks, XXXXX
