Customer Question

The disc tray of my SONY DVP-NS325 player has got locked is stuck in what I suspect is a
Child Lock but following the instructions TO UNLOCK THE DISK TRAY, namely: "When the player is in standby mode press RETURN, ENTER and then l(') again" does not unlock the tray and the LOCKED message reappears.

I have no children living here, I did not try to activate the child lock and would love to disable it for good! Can you help?

Optional Information:
Make: SONY
Model: DVP-NS325

Already Tried:
FOLLOW THE UNLOCK INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL. THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS ACTIVATING THE LOCK INSTRUCTIONS, SAME SEQUENCE OF BUTTONS

Have you tried this?

Ensure the child lock feature is disabled. (You've done that, but make sure it is)

Attempt to open the disc tray.

If the issue is not resolved, turn off the DVD player.

Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 2 minutes.

Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

Attempt to open the disc tray.

If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons

OR

If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.

If none of the above works, you normally have to ship the unit to Sony to get it repaired. Small items like this are repaired at the factory nowadays.

Thank you.
