I have a Nighthawk carbon monoxide alarm. Its reading Err flashing

I have a Nighthawk carbon monoxide alarm. Its reading Err flashing dot. Its chirpping every 30 seconds. I have pushed the peak level botton and then held the test reset button for 2 seconds like the users guide instructed. I get Err flashing dot. The peak level reads E09. I have also replaced the battery. The model Number:KN-COPP-3. Date of mfg is 2001, October 15. Assembly Number(NNN) NNN-NNNN Please let me know if you need more info. I have sent this question 3 times and have given my credit card number to cover the cost. Thanks

These will display errors after 5 years of use. There is an internal timer. They want you to replace them because they are no longer reliable after this time period. If you have smoke detectors in your house, you should also replace them every 5 years regardless of whether they self-test okay.
