my garmin nuvi 260w went totally blank. I did the reset procedure but to no avail. It has power to it but blank screen. Any suggestions?

2. How do you know it has power ?

3. Can you hear any sound (navigational prompts) ?

it started 3 days ago after I used a wall outlet plug from radio shack. I then went to the car and used the power source from the car but no picture and no sounds

Hello !!

Now here is the thing.

Your nuvi must have got excess power from the wall charger and so its dead. Or maybe its dead for some other reason.

Now, your Nuvi has a 1 year warranty from Garmin. But if you will mention to them about wall charger or any such thing, your warranty will get void.

So just contact them and tell them that it suddenly stopped working. You dont know how it happened. And they will replace your unit.

Please complete these two easy steps:


1. Contact Garmin Technical Support to receive an RMA number.

Call or e-mail a Garmin Technical Support Specialist to describe the problem and request a return material authorization (RMA) number. You will need to provide the unit's serial number (if applicable), your return shipping address and a daytime phone number.

Phone: 1-800-800-1020 or(NNN) NNN-NNNNbr /> Fax:(NNN) NNN-NNNNbr /> E-mail: Tech Support


2. Ship the unit, along with the RMA number, to Garmin.

Once you have received the RMA number, you also will be told what dock number to include in the shipping address. Ship the unit (insured) to the following address and include the assigned dock number:

Garmin International
1200 E. 151st Street
RMA Number: (insert your RMA number here)
Dock Door (insert the dock number here)
Olathe, KS 66062 USA



And please dont use that wall charger with the new Nuvi. Return it if possible
