The deinstall has 2 steps. This unit mounts into a collar. First you have to remove the unit from the collar using the "U" shaped removal tool that came with the unit. Next, you will need to remove the collar and disconnect the wiring. I am posting several pages from the manual below

Found entire manual at this link, right side of page. 5401 and 5301 use same manual.
