I have a ge 2527 multimeter and I want to check a car battery

Customer Question

I have a ge 2527 multimeter and I want to check a car battery to see if it will hold a charge - I've been charging it with a trickle charger for quite a while and it isn't working to start the engine, so I need to know if the battery is shot or if the trickle charger works. How do I do this? There is a DCV setting on the multimeter and it has three settings 10, 250 , and 500.

You would want to use the VDC or DVC setting and the 250 range.
