I'm trying to figure out how to merge .wav files with guitar tracks with my new bass and drums on my Tascam DR-44WL recorder
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Tascam DR-44WL iwth iPhone7plus app and PC iTunes 10
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: just starting

Customer: I have songs in .wav and mp3 formats on my PC and on CDs and now I want to add bass and drum tracks using my new Tascam DR-44WL so I can make new .wav and mpe files on my pc.

The easiest way is to use a computer program. Your recorder isn't built as a mixing station, it's a recorder. There are several free mixing programs out there, click here for Wavepad. That will allow you to multitrack the wav and mp3 files, and will mix it down into one audio track.
