I have a Roland A-90EX with the VE-RD1. I 't know how to

Customer Question

I have a Roland A-90EX with the VE-RD1.
I don't know how to load sounds back on to the expansion card.
Quite a while ago the battery went flat on the card, and when we put a new battery in, all the sounds that had been on the card had disappeared. I contacted the previous owner of the keyboard, and they were able to send me a backup of all their sounds, and said use a midi cable and something like garageband and load it up on the keyboard, following the instructions in the manual. I've looked at the manual, and I can't find the instructions - the closest I came was to how to backup the sounds you have on page 52 of the owners manual volume 2.
I'm no musician I just play a little, but I have 3 kids learning to play, this has been a great instrument - I would love to put some of those other sounds back on.
We have 64 sounds on the keyboard itself, so I want to add the sounds from 65 up.
I have a usb midi cable, and garageband on my mac.
I've been searching for youtube videos or forums, but no luck.
Thank you in anticipation

Hi Karen,

Do you still need assistance with this?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
I haven't received a response yet.

First, make a backup copy of the existing files in case they get wiped.

Then try adding the previous owner's backup.

Will you be using Garageband, or something similar for this?

I'll be using garageband. But what steps do I need to do 1) on the keyboard and 2) in garageband?

Hi, do you have any instructions for me? I already have a backup of all the sounds. I just don't know how to get the sounds on to the keyboard.
