FR-7 has not been in use -5 years. Powered on and played in

Customer Question

FR-7 has not been in use for 4-5 years. Powered on and played in demo for approximately
2 minutes and quit. Charged battery and now blue on light comes on but that is all. No screen display, unit dead. Checked battery voltage at approximately 25 VDC.

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially, proposed preliminary tries (if have not been done):

  • • disconnect the battery for an extended period of time;
  • • clean the battery connector, pins and terminals;
  • • measure the battery voltage before and when just connected;
  • • repeat measuring the battery voltage when attempting to turn on the Roland.

All others would be internal.

How do you check the battery voltage when the battery cover must be in place to actuate the battery cover switch to confirm the battery is in place before using.
Expert:  Louie replied 10 months ago.

Please consider 'Feeder wires'; i.e. magnet wires with stripped ends plugged into the battery connector to provide test points even with the battery cover in place.

I do not have access to these. I will continue tomorrow. Late going to bed.

Tomorrow or when able, please post back with clear pictures of the "...battery cover...battery cover switch.."
