Customer Question

My yamaha motif 6 will not power up. Worked fine the night before. When I shake the keyboard the screen lights up for a brief second. Is there a fuse I should be looking for?

Hi there and welcome to Just Answer. I'm Steve. Thanks for asking your question. I'm sorry to hear about your keyboard.

It sounds like a solder joint or connection somewhere in the case. Do you gig with this keyboard?

Customer replied 311 days and 5 hours ago.

Yes I do gig I'm on tour now I have a gig tomorrow. I'm very good at soldering. I don't have the the schematic or the instructions on getting to the source of the problem. I figured it ways a loos solder.

Yup. Constantly transporting the instrument around can cause such problems. I don't think it is anything major. I would open it up and first check around the 120V power supply board and it's connection to the motherboard.

Also check the on/off switch and it's associated wiring.

I'll be here if you need more help.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what to look for everything looks good as far as no loose solder joints?

Do you have a meter to see if the PS board is outputting DC voltage?

Did you get my last response?

I was hoping you would have a multimeter to test that power supply.

Let me know.

Because you did not reply to my questions I had to go to another place to get answers with much quicker response.
