Customer Question

I am arranging a score with five parts, and all the bar lines disappeared on one of the parts - How can I get them back?

Already Tried:
Go to "barlines" on the ribbon.

Does your metronome still work?

Ok, I'll give you a checklist of all of the things to check. Remember, you can always undo, so pay attention to the result as you go.

Go to the view tab on the ribbon. Is the barlines box checked? Pay close attention to your Ruler.

Also, check for abnormalities in Home, Bars.

If you can highlight the bars (that are invisible), make sure the color is not white. Appearance, Design and Position, Reset Design. This will reset it to black. You can always undo (ctrl+z).

Home, Edit, Hide or Show. Make sure the bars or lines aren't hidden.

Notation, common, barline. Make sure they're not set to invisible.

On the general tab, switch on the barlines.

None of these suggestions worked. Remember the bar lines only disappeared on one of the four parts, and the bar umbers are in place even on that one! I have tried highlighting all bars in the part concerned, and then going to notations, common, barlines, but even putting them all to "normal" does not work. By the way, what is the "genera; tab" - nothing marked that on my screen or in my search the ribbon box. Leslie.

I just solved the problem myself! I though if I created a new instrument, and therefore a new part, and then copied and pasted the notes from the part without bar lines to the one with bar lines, I might get the needed result. Anyway, I created a new instrument, and Immediately the bar lines reappeared on the problematic part - go figure! Anyway, this "solution" may be useful to others with this curious problem Maybe you can help me next time. Thanks anyway. Leslie.
