I am replacing a ceiling fan with a light fixture. it is wired to a two three way switches the new fixture has a black and white wire the j-box has white, black and a black with grey stripe what is the black with grey stripe?

Customer: I just would like to know what to wire to what I know all about green and grounding And of course white to white but the black fixture wire goes to just the black house wire? then what do I do with the black/grey? do I join the black/grey with black house wires connect to the fixture black?

The black/grey is the switched leg to the light on the fan. To install a light fixture only, connect black house wire to black fixture wire. Cap the house wire that was connected to the black/grey.
