Are you saying there is a pull chain and doesn't make a difference or there isn't a pull chain?

OK, that type of fan has its receiver built in. What that means is that a bad connection at the feed isn't the problem. The only thing other than a failed receiver is possibly a bad connection to the light kit. You need to drop the lights and inspect the 2 wire connections to it. A failure of the remote is also a possibility. Unfortunately the only way to verify that would be to get a new remote. Worst case is the receiver is bad and needs replacement
