I have two can lights in a supply room that keep going out. The bulb is good but now power is coming to the light. I have changed the socket on one of the lights and it keeps doing the same thing. Power stops at the fixture.

What size lamp is in the fixture. Cans have restrictive lamp sizes and if exceeded the heat will trip the thermal protector.

You can install an LED lamp to get more brightness with out the heat.
