I purchased a compact lg dryer. Specs say it needs 220v 30

Customer Question

I purchased a compact lg dryer. Specs say it needs 220v 30 amp. The inside of the dryer says 120/240v 13a. I have a 20 amp 240 breaker with 12 / 3 . Will the dryer run without danger? Tripping only if the power consumption goes to high?

Hi, I'm Mike G and I'll be assisting you. You need to wire it according to the listing on the appliance. The nameplate stating 120/240V 13A allows 12/3 on a 20A circuit.

Does that mean even if the name plate says this but the appliance is rated for a 30 amp breaker 10 / 3 is it safe to put it on a 30 amp 13 / 3?
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Sorry I meant 20 amp 12 / 3 at the end of the previous sentence

You have to wire it per the nameplate. 30A on 10/3 copper wire.
