Extra blue wire on my new ballast, 2 8ft bulbs, yes, the old

Customer Question

extra blue wire on my new ballast
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: 2 8ft bulbs
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: the old ballast is a bigger one - guessing magnetic and the new ballast is slimmer but for 96 inch bulbs
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Electrician about your situation and then connect you two.

left side of ballast has white and black wire - like old ballast / right side had 2 blue and 1 red wire, old ballast has 1 red wire going into one bulb end and one blue wire going into other bulb end - not sure what to do with extra blue wire
