Customer Question

Hi
JA: Hi. How can we help?
Customer: I have an old GE CTL Panelboard, 3 phase
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: I need to buy circuit breakers to install in this panel, but am not certain what to order
JA: How old is the system in question? And have you consulted an electrician yet?
Customer: The panel was given to me by a friend who is an electrician
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: But he is out of town and not available for advice now
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I'm not sure how old it is, probable at least 20 years
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Electrician about your situation and then connect you two.

Hello and welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I will be happy to assist you with your electrical question.

1) Take a look at the label inside the panelboard door. It will show the types of breakers that are allowed in the panel. Any local electrical supply store should carry the required breakers.

2) Keep in mind that since the panel is a GE, only GE breakers are allowed in the panel. Foreign breakers such as Eaton or Siemens or Westinghouse are not allowed.

GE panel requires GE breakers.
