In reading an old Army (1954) maintenance manual, two items

Customer Question

In reading an old Army (1954) maintenance manual, two items are mentioned for electric component repair. What are the equivalent products today? GE #458 varnish and GE #12G cement.

Welcome to
There are many motor winding varnish products on the market today. A search did not turn up a direct replacement for either of the products you mentioned. One popular varsity is Red Motor Insulating Varnish made by a number of manufacturers. I was not successful in finding the cement. Perhaps technical advances have made it obsolete. Please remember to rate my service. Thank you

Above should say " popular varnish..." not varsity. Thanks
