I have just purchased an electric radiator. I need to wire

Customer Question

I have just purchased an electric radiator. I need to wire the plug it has black brown and grey wires. I believe I have wires it correctly but it keeps tripping the electricity supply. I have tried different amp fuses but now don't know what to do. Currently wired black - neutral grey-earth and brown - live.

Ok I have wired it. What amp fuse should I use. Radiator is 1200w
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I have just tried the 5amp and the 13amp and nothing happens!

Does it make any difference if I am in the uk?
Expert:  Mike G. replied 7 months ago.
You need a 7 amp fuse. The wire connections are for the UK. Do you have a voltage tester? You need to verify the voltage from the supply.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I believe it is 230v
Can't seem to buy 7amp fuses! Only 3, 5 and 13.

Use a 13A
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I get nothing with the 13A
Expert:  Mike G. replied 7 months ago.
You need to verify there is voltage from the panel.

Do you mean from the radiator or from the electrical socket?
Expert:  Mike G. replied 7 months ago.
From the socket. Check to see if you tripped the breaker.

It is a brand new double socket. Is definitely working as using it charge mobile phone ok. Just checked both sockets.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Did not trip the breaker. Socket still working charging mobile phone ok.
