When it rains I can definitely hear it through our exhaust

Customer Question

when it rains I can definitely hear it through our exhaust fan in the kitchen - also heard
music playing all night on the street from the exhaust fan - is this normal with a new
house?

Sounds like the damper where the vent terminates outdoors may be stuck open. What you describe is not a complaint we normally encounter. I'd check it if it's easily accessible. If it's not (terminates on the roof) then have someone who is comfortable on your roof check it out
