I have a xantrex battery charger on my boat, model #tc 4012.

Customer Question

I have a xantrex battery charger on my boat, model #tc 4012. Shore power was turned off on returning to boat and all three batteries were flat. Charger would not charge flat batteries. Installed new batteries and charger still reading "fault". Do I need a new charger?

Hello and welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I will be happy to assist you with your electrical question.

1) Please confirm, I assume the batteries are 12VDC, is that correct?

2) Do you have a "a combination clamp-on amp meter/DC voltmeter" to measure the DC output voltage of the charger and also to measure the current when connected to a battery under full load?
