Open the panel and test each breaker to neutral for 120V. Let me know the results.

What isn't working? How many outlets and what rooms?

Not working are 4 outlets in garage, outlet in main bath, 2 outlets in master bath, 1 outdoor flood.

Perhaps I need a local guy to check this out.

You need to be more patient. I can only respond when your message comes through. The items mentioned should be on a GFCI. It may be anywhere. Look for a device with a test and reset button.

The old plug was not a GCFI plug and I shorted it out since I could not find a circuit breaker that would turn it off, and opened the box with power still on... that's how I shorted it out. After that, none of the breakers were tripped, and no more power to the wires in the box.... something else is stopping the flow.????

At the dead outlet test as follows.

For voltage

Hot to neutral

Hot to ground

Neutral to ground.

If there wasn't any voltage readings, test neutral to ground for continuity. Let me know the results.
