I have a 110v outlet but we just bought a 220v hot tub. Can I use a coverter for the time being until we can have the permanent wiring done?

Hello and welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** Iwill be happy to assist you with your electrical question.

1) Negative. The hot tub requires a dedicated and permanent 240 volt wired circuit protected by a GFCI device along with a safety disconnect switch and the required bonding.

2) Hot tubs typically require a 50 amp double pole circuit breaker. Your 120 volt receptacle is only protected by either a 15 or a 20 amp circuit breaker.
