CEILING FAN QUESTION: IS IT POSSIBLE TO PUT A REMOTE CONTROL

Customer Question

CEILING FAN QUESTION: IS IT POSSIBLE TO PUT A REMOTE CONTROL RECEIVER IN THE CEILING, RESTING ON SHEETROCK, NEXT TO THE ELECTRICAL BOX. THE WIRES OF THE RECEIVER, WOULD THEN BE INSERTED THROUGH 2 PRE DRILLED HOLES AND CONNECTED TO THE FAN.
CARE WOULD BE TAKEN TO SAFEGUARD THE RECEIVER.

Hi, I'm Mike G and I'll be glad to assist you. Unfortunsatly no. The universal receiver is intended to be enclosed int the canopy or the body of the fan. It is listed so by the National Electrical Cod and would pose a hazard if wired outside the box.
