Welcome. My name is ***** ***** would be glad to assist.Did the fan have a receiver that mounts in the ceiling canopy?Or is it internal on the fan?Does the fan have a light kit?Let me know and we can continue,Thanks
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
receiver mounts inside the canopy
with lights
Expert:  AssuredElectrical replied 1 year ago.
Ok, so what wires were connected from the fan to the receiver?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
from the fan - black to black, white to white, blue to blue - ground to ground
Expert:  AssuredElectrical replied 1 year ago.
Ok, that is the standard.so where is this extra blue?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
On the AC side - I've connected black to black and white to white. There are two blue wires coming from the fan
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
One blue wire is marked light kit
Expert:  AssuredElectrical replied 1 year ago.
Ok, is the other blue labeled? The light kit is mounted on the bottom of the fan, correct?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It all seems to be working fine, just have that extra blue wire
Yes, light kit mounted beneath the blades
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the other blue wire is not labeled
Expert:  AssuredElectrical replied 1 year ago.
Yes, that is very odd.The only time you find more than one wire for the lights, is when you have an up light above th eblades and then the down light on the bottom side.Wonder if the fan had an option or something?
Expert:  AssuredElectrical replied 1 year ago.
Since the other was labeled and the light is working, you are fine.Cap off that second blue, not a problem
Expert:  AssuredElectrical replied 1 year ago.
Wouldn't be concerned with the extra
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Don't see any options. The remote has a switch for the fan (low, med, hi, off) and on/off for the lights.
Okay, I'll cap it.....one more thing
Expert:  AssuredElectrical replied 1 year ago.
Ok, what you have?
