I am looking into buying a commercial microwave for our office

This answer was rated:

I am looking into buying a commercial microwave for our office (previously we had a residential microwave). The commercial microwave I am looking at requires a 120V electrical connection for operation. We have a 3-prong outlet; but, how do I know the voltage? Is 120v standard?

AssuredElectrical :

Welcome. My name is XXXXX XXXXX would be glad to assist.

AssuredElectrical :

The 120 volt is standard on the regular 3 prong receptacle. When they are 240 volts, the receptacles will be totally different

AssuredElectrical :

All receptacles looking like the below are 120 volts. That is all they are rated for and cannot be used for anything different.
