I installed a new Hayward pump and when I start the pump it

I installed a new Hayward pump and when I start the pump it runs for a minute then stops, I reversed the wires and the salting happens. Any suggestions???

Customer: The housing is hot we are going to let it cool . But the motor sounds right and it did not turn off

Customer: Yes according to the picture the 230 was not right. The picture helped. Removed the selector and place it as the pix and the motor turned on and did not turn off. There was a ill spark when it turned on but put cover on

Customer: yes we have water flow. I don't know about bubbles. My husband primed the pump

ok, just wanted to be sure it had flow, if it starves for water, it will overheat from high current

Customer: I think it is ok my husband says the pump running even sounds different

check the flow and make sure it is correct? not too little, but not too much either

Customer: It is at 20 psi

ok, I dont know your piping and everything, so I assume that was what you ran at with flow?

Customer: Yup it's running now outside is a bit warm but not hot and it is 100 degree here right now
