Hello, and welcome to JA!!
Have you tried plugging the fridge into another outlet? You may have to use a short extension cord
Hi, yes I did and it the outlet I plugged it into, "stopped working" and I had to press the reset button. Not sure on the technical terms -
That is a GFCI outlet
how old is the house and how old is the fridge?
the house is six years old and the fridge is also six years old
I did reset the circuit breaker and it worked for about four minutes before it shut off again
I know this is not what you want to hear, but you have a faulty fridge. You will need to have an appliance repair person take a look at it
this is not an electrical problem
so there is nothing I can do in the interim
Probably not. The most likely culprit is a bad compressor motor
is that typical for a six year old fridge?
No. But it does happen.
Wish I had better news for you
but at least now you know which way to go
