Customer Question

Q: A circuit consists of 4 capacitors in parallel that are each rated at 0.15uF. What is the total capacitance of the parallel circuit? Q: The four capacitors in question above are now connected in series. What is the total capacitance of the series circuit? Q: In a certain balanced three-phase system, each line is 5A and each line voltage is 220V. What is the approximate real power if the power factor is 0.87? Q: A generator produces 480 volts at 50 amperes. The efficiency of the generator is 88.67 percent. What are the mechanical and electrical power losses in watts?

Welcome. My name is XXXXX XXXXX would be glad to assist.

Q: A circuit consists of 4 capacitors in parallel that are each
rated at 0.15uF.
What is the total capacitance of the parallel
circuit? C1+C2+C3+C4=T
.60 uf

Q: The four capacitors in question above are now connected
in series. What is the total capacitance of the series circuit?
1/(1/C1+1/C2+1/C3+1/C4)
.0375 uf

Q: In a certain balanced three-phase system, each line is 5A and
each line Voltage is 220V. What is the approximate real power if
the power factor is 0.87?
V*A*PF*1.732/1000
1.65 KW

Q: A Generator produces 480 volts at 50
amperes. The efficiency of the generator is 88.67 percent. What
are the mechanical and electrical power losses in watts?
480*50=24000 watts
24000*88.67%=21280.8
24000-21280.8=2719.2
2719.2 watts lost
