I would like to know how to wire standard 230v single phase induction motor one which has two capacitors. One for start up one to run. How do I test coils for resitance, to connect to correct poles. Ken
Make: tow value capicitor motor
Model: yl 901/2 3hp 250/40uf
Nothing too scared to connect.
There are 5 terminals.
On top marked Z1 Z2 Z1
Underneath U1 U2
To make it more confusing the switch has two speeds.
Hello my name is XXXX XXX I will be happy to assist you. Please verify the Voltage at your location, Is it 230 Volts?Did you receive any documentation with the motor?
We bought this wood working machine which is brand new but had quite a few missing parts. It has a two speed Switch and our voltage in South africa is 230/240v.
Thank You Ken.I did some research and would like you to look at the information that is found at the link below, I believe this may be very similar to what you have even though the horse power is different.http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/17189/Changing-from-110-115-volt-wiring-to-220-230-volt-wire-set-upYou may have to copy and paste this link for it to open. Also, is there a possibility that the switch that you are referring to is actually a reversing switch, which is also described on that web page?
