Here is the basic material list for installing a circuit for this Water Heater:

10/2 NM-B Cable, copper - the trade name is "Romex". This cable has 2 insulated wire conductors and a bare ground wire, and the outside of the cable is Orange in color.
Please note that there will be a Black and White insulated wire, and for this 240 volt circuit the White wire should be colored Black or Red with electrical tape or a permanent marker.

The 35 foot distance will be fine for this circuit and cable.

A 2-pole 30 amp 240 volt Circuit Breaker.
