I am changing out my ceiling fans - I have a red and a copper wire that I am unsure about. When I removed the old fans, I did not pay attention to what went where. Now I am unsure how to hook it back up.
Hi, I'm Mike and I'll be glad to assist you. In most cases you'll have a Black, White , Red and Copper ground in the ceiling box. If the new fan has a light kit and isn't remote controlled, the connections are as follows.Ceiling ................................. FanBlack....................................BlackWhite ...................................WhiteRed.......................................Blue or a Black/WhiteCopper .................................GreenMike G.41084.8994791319
If you only have a Black and White, then omit the Red . Cap it and push to the back of the box. The copper will need to be connected to the green.

Going to give that a try - may take a little bit to get it hooked up and ready to try. I am connecting black to black, white to white, red to blue and copper to green. That sound right?
Very good - let me know how you do.
Well, it worked - thank you very much for your help!!!!!
Very good. Easier than you expected. Glad to help.
