Hello. I'm installing a pool thermopump and I'm using a subpanel with a GFCI in it on the outside of my house. The subpanel is made for exterior use for pool and hot-tub applications. My question is this: there is no grounding screw provided by the manufacturer of the box, however, the neutral Bus Bar can be bonded to it. Should I bond this bar and use it for my ground connections and then connect my neutral wires using a wire nut? Does this setup pass code? Thanks Philippe.
Optional Information: Make: Siemens Model: 125 amp spa subpanel
hi this is john and will be glad to help
when using this sub Panel the grounds and neutrals must be separated from the time they leave the main panel of your house....you can not bond the neutral bar to the panel.....this will cause the gfi breaker to trip and not reset because the ground and neutral will be together
a double barrell ground lug or ground bar can be purchased at any home depot or loews and attached to any of the holes located in the back of the sub panel
do not use the bonding screw that came with the sub panel
that is strange that no grounding accomadations were included with the sub panel since it is for outdoor use
is there one bar or two in the sub panel
