hello ..i would like to convert a singl light swith to a double in order to wire a light for the conservatory ...currently it has a plug on which we have to keep taking in and out of plug socket so i thought this would be better...is it possible and what do i need to do /get

The plug that the light is plugged into will have to have to be dedicated which means it is not attached to anything else. you would need to run black wire to Switch. then you can put in a stack single pole switch. power will come in on the brass or common side of the switch and the black wire to the receptacle will go to one of the silver screws.
