I am installing an overhead Microwave and need to add an outlet. I am planning to wire a dedicated circuit just for this outlet. It will be a 20 amp circuit. Due to the age of the house and difficulty in running romex or similar in the wall and thru the crawl space which is extremely difficult to navigate in, Is it acceptable to use 1/2" EMT conduit on the outside of the house to the service panel and up the outside wall behind the kitchen cabinet where I will be installing the outlet. I understand that I cannot run romex in the conduit and it has to be individual THHN wires. Is this all acceptable or what would you suggest. I reside in Colorado. Thanks,RP
Hello,It's acceptable. I you use emt then you need to use compression couplings and connectors . You could also use PVC pipe.Let me know if you have more questions.
