John D. : Hi [USERNAME], I look forward to resolving your electrical problems.
Customer :

Hello

John D. : You should run 4/0 aluminum conductors for your 200 amp service. 2-1/2 in conduit is great.
John D. : We use URD cable-undeground residential distribution.
Customer :

Do you know if 4/0 meets code in Brevard county Fl. ? A local electrictian said 250 but I was told by someone else to use 4/0 triplex?

John D. : 4/0 should definitely meet code. 250 mcm is a bit big for this application.
Customer :

It is a 5000' garage

John D. : 250 would be fine, too, if you can afford to spend a little more money. Have you calculated the load in the garage? Wil you have any large loads?
Customer :

I have not. I will have A 1200’ rec room with 3 ton air and 1600 of office with 5 ton. In the shop 220v compressor, welder , etc..

John D. : By large, I mean unusually big machinery.
Customer :

Largest will be Ac and welder

John D. : 200A should be fine in that space.
Customer :

Thanks
