The expert I was going to send this to isn't online at the moment. I did check for online info and found the link below. After reviewing it, I need to know if the T-stat you have is for a swamp cooler or just a regular t-stat. The reason being, from what I read is that the wiring is line Voltage and not low voltage as it would be on other HVAC equipment.

You will need a 2 wire voltage tester to continue. I'll stay with you, let me know when you're ready.

The Thermostat you describe, "the thermostat i have, red, orange, yellow, green, white, black"..., is for low voltage HVAC control. A swamp cooler has a 3 speed, line voltage switch controlling it. You will need to give me all the model number and make of the cooler and thermostat you are installing. Also, where is the control switch/thermostat that was removed? Any name or model numbers on it?
Why is it being removed and changed to a digital thermostat?
