Do you still have power in those affected outlets now? Is it just showing open ground?

yes there is power there and it seems to work fine

Ok - all that means is that your ground wire has broken off, come loose or corroded to the point where it lost its connectivity. What you need to do is open up the good outlet that is next to the affected outlet and double check your ground wires to be sure they are still firmly connected. Once you do this - your "open ground" problem will go away.
