Customer Question

I have power (lights work etc) but it wont move. Parking brake seems locked. I the owners manual option of plugging in the aux power, but that didn't do anything
JA: Have your brakes ever been replaced? Have you checked the brake fluid?
Customer: no. Cart is only 1 year old
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: EZGO RXV 2014
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I only tried instructions in the manual - plugged the aux power into primary power line connector. The manual says that should unlock the brake. I get a click sound but brake does not disengage.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: nope

Do you have a voltmeter to test the battery voltage to the brake? On RXV, it takes a full 48 volts to release the brake. Check brake voltage, and each battery. Any drop below 48 volts, and cart will not release the brakes and drive. Is the charger working, so charge is good?

Customer: replied 29 days ago.
I don't have a volt meter. I can't charge because I cant move it to an outlet. I will try to find a volt meter tomorrow.

Do you have 48 volts to the electric brake , so it will release? Less than 48 volts, and brake will not release!

Customer: replied 28 days ago.
It is fully charged. I don't think that is it. Thanks for trying.

You are missing the point. If RXV does not release brake, nothing else happens. Do you hear brake click?

Customer: replied 28 days ago.
I do understand, but we are not on the same page. It is fully charged, but the brake is locked. I have now spoken with the EZGO person and we think we have a solution.
