I have a 2002 Club Car DS. I have to press the accelerator

Customer Question

Hi. I have a 2002 Club Car DS. I have to press the accelerator down 2 inches plus before it engages. It has an i Q system and it's top speed is 13 miles per hour with a speed magnet installed. I have read that you can take up the slop by using a wire tie or a section of rubber hose, but just trying to confirm where to apply so i can see if it corrects slo speed
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: added a speed magnet. Yes I want to do this myself. Its a hobby.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: I am very new at this but quickly addicted

I assume this is electric cart and not gas?

There should be no large amount of travel , before the pedal moves the MCOR, motor control output regulator.Have you looked at the linkage and why it has too much travel? Worn parts or loose parts?? The wire tie and rubber hose is used on the governor linkage on gas cart.
