I have a 2002 48V club car that will not go in reverse. It does make the tone when It is engauged, and it does make a click noise when you push on the gas but will not move. Forward works fine.

Where is the directional switch? At your knee? Large switch behind the firewall, that is accessed under the seat? The switch is usually the problem, contacts are not making in reverse. The switch can be removed and contacts cleaned and sanded, or the switch replaced.

Yes, that is what I thought, the switch is all that makes the directional change, You can swap the forward, reverse cables to test, but I think the switch is the problem.
