Customer Question

The solenoid has to drop out, but the generator keeps turning , to charge the battery. Check the foot micro switch that engages the starter. It should not power the solenoid, except at start.

Looking at diagram the main switch shows to have start function, and is only at start position. Is it working? It should kill the solenoid.

I would say you need a new keyswitch, or the two wires from key to solenoid (relay) are bad.
