I have some scratches on my precedent black paint plus some

Customer Question

I have some scratches on my precedent black paint plus some staining from battery acid. How can I get the problem area back to a nice shine? Can I use a very fine sand paper then compound out and polish?

Start with 1000 grit, then 1500 and finish with 2000 grit, Found in the auto body products in auto supply. Then use the rubbing compound and finish with a good wax/polish.
