CC-Tech :

Hello UVX.My name is XXXXX XXX I read your complaint. From what you told me, I can offer you two possible solutions. You have either a bad circuit breaker or a bad diode within your charger. Let me ask you this....first is your car a 36volt or is it a 48volt powered system? You said that your car is a 2001 model and I have knowledge of both. I am willing to bet the proverbial farm that you have a bad diode either way.A bad diode is what causes a circuit breaker to trip. Let me know what voltage that your car is and I'll walk you through it. It isn't hard ...takes about ten minutes. Beep me back! Regards XX XXX and yours! Bryan

Customer :

it's a 48 volt system. the breaker on the charger doesn't snap off, the guage drops to zero and the breaker comes out slowly for several minutes before you can reset it.

Customer :

just checking back for more info

CC-Tech :

OK , it sounds like a bad diode assembly. And you more than likely have a power drive one charger, right? What you do is remove the screws from your charger cover. If you stand on the left side of your charger, you'll see an assembly which has three wires going to it. Two of the wires are from your transformer and the two in the middle is from the DC cord (white in color) and the charger itself (red in color) This is your diode assembly. If you change this part, your problem should go away.It probably wouldn't hurt to change your circuit breaker as well. This pert costs about twenty dollars and takes about thirty seconds to change. If you need any more help with this,by all means, let me know. Bryan
