Offhand, how long have you owned the Fire TV and have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote yet?
Additionally, have you fully rebooted the Fire by unplugging it's USB power connection for a minute and then plugging it back in?
Also please reply back as to whether this is the Fire TV stick, or the Box.
